He graduated with honours MBBS in 1994. He undertook training in the “National Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery” in Dublin then in Cork and Belfast. During his training he completed a Master degree on “Role of Stereotaxy in localization of Craniotomy” he also gained his doctorate of medicine on “Intraventricular uses of Neuro-endoscopy”.
He completed training in Skull base surgery under world-renowned Prof Al-Mefty in USA in 2008. He worked as an attending (Clinical Instructor) in University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) , LittleRock Neurosurgery Department (the Department of Gazi Yassargil the “Neurosurgeon of the Century”). He was appointed as a full time NHS Consultant Neurosurgeon in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in University of Aberdeen.
He is the Training Programme Director for Higher Surgical Training in neurosurgery for North East of Scotland. He has been teaching on the Neurosurgery Courses at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Neurosurgery exam course at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
